Histone acetylation beyond promoters: long‐range acetylation patterns in the chromatin world.E. Camilla Forsberg & Emery H. Bresnick - 2001 - Bioessays 23 (9):820-830.
Histone acetylation is an important regulatory mechanism that controls transcription and diverse nuclear processes. While great progress has been made in understanding how localized acetylation and deacetylation control promoter activity, virtually nothing is known about the consequences of acetylation throughout entire chromosomal regions. An increasing number of genes have been found to reside in large chromatin domains that are controlled by regulatory elements many kilobases away. Recent studies have shown that broad histone acetylation patterns are hallmarks of chromatin domains. The (...)

Factors influencing college students' confidence in using electronic books as learning tools.Queen E. Booker & Fred L. Kitchens - 2011 - Acm Sigcas Computers and Society 41 (2):7-17.
An earlier version of this paper was presented at the 2011 IEEE International Symposium on Technology and Society at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois. This paper examines factors in college student confidence in using electronic books as learning tools between 2007 and 2009. The study was done in response to the growing concern over the cost of textbooks and the increase in the use of e-textbooks to counteract that cost. This study shows that despite a lack of a gap (...)

Assessing agricultural education: Agricultural economics at a crossroads. [REVIEW]E. Wesley F. Peterson, Fred J. Ruppel & Daniel I. Padberg - 1988 - Agriculture and Human Values 5 (4):26-33.
Colleges of agriculture are being forced to adapt to a changing world. The forces behind these changes affect all departments within the college. In this paper, the place of agricultural economics within the college and within the university is identified, the current situation facing the discipline is outlined, and strategies for responding to the forces of change are discussed. Three alternatives are available: continuation, termination, and metamorphosis. Different departments are likely to pursue different strategies. Some may disappear altogether or may (...)

The Traffic in Culture: Refiguring Art and Anthropology.George E. Marcus & Fred R. Myers - 1995
"The Traffic in Culture takes us along exciting new avenues in the investigation of art and society, global encounter, and the marketing of culture. These essays will become required reading to scholars in fields as diverse as art history, anthropology, sociology, and cultural studies."--Suzanne Preston Blier, Harvard University "These essays break new ground in charting out a critical ethnography of art. They address the complexities of cultural difference while ceasing to respect the boundary between 'Western' and 'non-Western' art which has (...)
